Such mails are scams and mainly from West Africa. You can verify it by opening the Full Header in your received email and look for the originating IP.Track that IP and you will have the country of Origin.many a times it coms from the Netherlands, UK, or even the US.This is because many of such Scammers operate from those countries. The Scammer will repeat the same storyline but change email addys and or it may be a gang operating using a set format letter.Just google a key pharse or line from the letter and you will have numerous hits all telling the same story. To prevent further spread of this, you can sent a report to the email provider like Live.com, yahoo etcand the email will be suspended. This will prevent the fraudster from replying victims that respond. He will have to start all over again with a new email addy.Unfortinately there is little in way of law enforcements to really get prosecutions, and now with the new initiatives by the FBI and EFCC from Nigeria, some progress is being made.Though these efforts are clearly insufficient, it is a move in the right direction. Will
I receive similar emails from different counties with the same sob story at least three times a month.
